Bart Victor
Chairman of the Board
Bart holds the position of Cal Turner Professor of Moral
Leadership at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management.
There, he teaches courses in Leadership, Teams, Organizations, and
Ethics. Before Vanderbilt, he taught at IMD, the University of North
Carolina, and the University of Nebraska. He has also authored several
case studies, books, and publication articles in numerous refereed
journals including Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly,
and the Academy of Management's Journal and Review. In addition to
his current faculty position, Bart serves on the Board of Directors
for BH1. He graduated with honors from the University of California
at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and earned a PhD
in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill.
Stephanie Zembar
President & CEO
Stephanie has extensive experience as both an executive as
well as legal counsel within the healthcare industry. Before joining
BH1, she was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Baptist
Hospital System Incorporated, one of the largest multi-hospital systems
in Middle Tennessee. Formerly, she served as healthcare counsel for
the law firm of Squire, Sanders, & Dempsey and was in-house counsel
for Ohio Health System, the largest not-for-profit system in Ohio.
She is also a member of the Board
of Directors for BH1, and former CFO and current Corporate Treasurer of the Baptist Healing Trust Foundation. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor
of Fine & Applied Arts from the University of Akron and earned
a Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Akron, School
of Law in Akron, Ohio.
Randy Starkweather
Executive Vice President & CFO
Randy has extensive experience in finance and strategic planning
within the healthcare industry. Prior to BH1, he was Senior Vice President
for Cambio Health Solutions, LLC, a premier consulting and hospital
turnaround firm. At Cambio, he worked on financial restructurings,
hospital mergers, managing multiple facilities, and hospital turnarounds
throughout the United States. Randy was a hospital Chief Financial
Officer before joining Cambio. He began his career in public accounting
and also worked for Piper Jaffray, an investment banking firm. He
currently serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors for BH1.
Randy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University
of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and also received his CPA at that
time. He later earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota
in Minneapolis.
Rajiv Gupta
Director, Financial Planning and Analysis
Rajiv has significant experience in healthcare industry in the areas of financial analysis, financial projections, corporate valuation, and mergers and acquisitions. His clients have included hospitals, healthcare IT companies, and healthcare service companies. He has also assisted in business plan analysis for prospective start-up companies in the healthcare field. Additionally, Rajiv manages BH1’s real estate investment division and has extensive experience with large-scale acquisitions and divestitures. He specializes in commercial warehouse and office space. Prior to joining BH1, Rajiv was a Senior Associate at Cognizant Technology Solutions. During this time, he designed information management systems for major corporations such as Intermountain Health Care, and consulted with IMS Health (a Fortune 1000 company) at their offices in the U.K., Spain, Portugal, and Australia. Rajiv earned a B.B.A. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India and an MBA from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management.
Richard Wadatz, CFA, CFP
Senior Financial Analyst
Richard has eleven years investment analysis, management, and advisory experience. He has negotiated credit lending facilities, letter of credit terms, interest rate swaps, investment management contracts, and terms for investments totaling several hundred million dollars. Richard has analyzed thousands of investment opportunities both public and privately held. He has reviewed and prepared business plans, budgets, financial statements, and credit analyses for multiple entities. In providing investment analysis he has also created Investment Policy Statements, Liability Matching Analyses, and Financial Modeling of the impact of Liability changes to Financial Statements and Funding Status. Richard recommended and oversaw the immunization of 60% of Plan Assets resulting in reduced funding liability and saving over $5MM. Richard received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Financial Services from the University of North Florida and an MBA in Accounting from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
Jeffrey Ervin
Senior Financial Analyst
Jeff provides financial, operational and strategic analysis, business plan development, corporate valuation, and dissolution management of prospective and existing investments in hospitals and healthcare service companies. Additionally, he assists with business development efforts for BH1 companies and contributes financial analysis and budget management to the Maternal Health Integrator. Jeff joined BH1 in 2005 after earning experience in various financial and operational roles with entrepreneurial ventures in the San Francisco Bay Area. His career started as an Associate with Montgomery Financial, where he provided custom financial analysis to clients raising capital and restructuring operations. Jeff further developed his financial and business development expertise with IT firms Telepost and Jamcracker, and family-office fund Neptune Holdings. Jeff received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and MIS from Miami University and a MBA in Finance and Strategy from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
Daniel Giannotti
Corporate Counsel
Daniel provides in-house legal counsel to BH1. Prior to joining BH1, Daniel was an attorney with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, where he provided legal counsel to the Department’s executive team and five state owned hospitals. Additionally, he provided oversight and counsel to the Department’s Division of Licensure. Formerly, Daniel also served as a hearing officer for the Tennessee Department of Human Services, where he presided over administrative hearings related to TennCare disenrollment. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University, where he majored in Finance and subsequently earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island.
